US States Capitals Quiz
Capitals is a map quiz that highlights a country and asks for its capital city. This round covers the United States only: 50 US states. It is free, needs no account, and runs in the browser on phone or desktop.
How do you play the US States capitals quiz?
A country is highlighted. Choose its capital city from four options. Drag to pan the map, scroll or pinch to zoom, and use the plus and minus buttons if you prefer. Small states such as Rhode Island, Delaware and Connecticut get an enlarged tap target, so they are as playable on a phone as Texas is.
How many states are there in the United States?
There are 50 states. This quiz asks about all fifty. Washington, D.C. and the territories — Puerto Rico, Guam, the US Virgin Islands, American Samoa and the Northern Mariana Islands — are drawn on the map but never asked about, because they are not states.
